surgery...

We knew that "C" was going to need a pretty major surgery to repair her Spina Bifida lesion. And we knew that we were not going to be able to be there with her at the time of the surgery. I didn't realize how much that was going to affect me until now...as we find ourselves 2 days from the surgery date. We got the most precious photo of her today. She was all hooked up for her pre-op EKG. She looked so confused & scared. It is just gut wrenching as a parent to know that you can not be at the bedside of your child at a time like this. We have been informed that she will be admitted to the FOCOS hospital on Monday and will have surgery on Tuesday morning. There is a team of 18 specialist traveling to Ghana to perform complex spine surgeries over the next 2 weeks. Our sweet girl is one of them. We are super excited that a family friend will be traveling to Ghana to be "C"s nurse/advocate while she is in the hospital. We know that God has been working on this part of the plan for a while. And we know that if we are not able to be there...Audrey is exactly the person we would want there in our place!! She is leaving her own family for 2 weeks for our sweet girl and we are so thankful for her!! We ask you to join us in prayer. It is our hope that all of Tuesday will be covered in prayer. There are many unknowns about how this surgery will affect her. No one can really tell us much, because with SB each case is so different. But there is only one truth. God is in control!! Right now our sweet girl is half a world away, but she is held safe in the arms of God. She is fearfully and wonderfully made by Him. He knows the plans that He has for her life.
