Running for HOMe

a few months ago I posted about a group of friends and family who surprised us by forming a team to run the local 5/10/25K here in Grand Rapids.

The team consists of 9 people who love orphans, who have adopted, some of whom have met our sweet girl, and they all wanted to help raise money to bring our daughter HOME!

So...Team Running for HOMe was created.

This dedicated group of men, women and children have been training for the last few months and in 22 days they will take to the streets to run the race they have chosen.

Each runner is looking for people who are willing to support them for this run. And each dollar donated will be given to our family [and the family of another sweet girl at HOMe] to help us bring these girls HOME!!

I have been thinking about how the adoption journey is much like running a race.
You get up the courage to make the commitment.
You put in the time preparing.
Race day arrives.
In the begining you are excited and strong and ready to go, but as the miles pass you begin to doudt your ability to make it to the finish line.
Your heart aches.
There is pain
and tears.
You rejoice at the distance you've come.
You pray for the end to arrive.
You encounter friendly faces and encouragement along the way.
and...you cross the finish line!

Would you consider supporting Team Running for HOMe as they run the race set before them?
